Privacy Policy

KinReady helps families keep medical, legal and financial records for the people they care for. This policy explains what happens to those records. The short version: they stay with you. KinReady has no server, no account of its own, and no way to see what you keep in it.
Where your records are kept
Everything you enter in KinReady — people, medications, allergies, directives, documents, contacts, appointments and the rest — is stored on your iPhone and in your own iCloud account, using Apple's iCloud (CloudKit). It is protected by Apple's iCloud security and governed by Apple's privacy policy. The developer of KinReady has no server and cannot access your records.
If you are not signed in to iCloud, your records stay on your iPhone only.
Sharing
A record is shared only when you choose to share it, and only with the people you invite through iCloud sharing. They can see — and, if you allow it, change — that person's records. You can remove someone, or stop sharing, at any time. Records shared with you belong to the person who shared them.
What KinReady does not do
- No accounts, sign-ins or passwords of its own.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking.
- No selling or renting of information to anyone.
- No third-party services that receive your records.
- No full account numbers, passwords or PINs are stored: for banks and similar institutions KinReady keeps only who to call, where the paperwork is, and the last four digits of an account.
Camera and photos
When you scan a pill bottle, an insurance card or a document, the image is read on your iPhone using Apple's built-in text recognition. What was read fills in a form for you to check; nothing is saved until you do. A scanned document is kept only in the record you save it to.
Reminders
If you turn reminders on, they are scheduled on your iPhone — there is no server involved. A reminder on your lock screen shows only a person's name and what kind of thing is due (for example, "A document for Mom expires in 30 days"), never medical details.
Exports and handovers
KinReady creates an export file only when you ask it to — or, if you turn on the monthly copy, once a month into your own iCloud Drive, in a folder called KinReady that keeps the last three months. An export you send goes only where you send it — AirDrop, Messages, Files or anywhere else you choose. Once sent, it is in your hands and the recipient's.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. KinReady never sees your payment details. Apple provides developers with standard sales reports, which do not include your records.
Children
Parents and guardians can keep records about their children in KinReady. KinReady is not directed at children, and — as described above — the developer collects no information about anyone.
Deleting your records
You can delete records in the app at any time. To remove KinReady's data from iCloud entirely, delete the app and then, on your iPhone, go to Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage (or Manage Account Storage) and delete KinReady's data. Records someone else shared with you remain theirs.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
